Record sales for BYD in 2024. The Chinese giant announces it electric vehicles, which last year sold over 4,272.15 cars in all categories, with an increase of 41.3% compared to 2023 (3,024,417 units).
The rapid sales growth of BYD and other electric vehicle manufacturers in the domestic market has been partly facilitated by the givers subsidies from Beijing. In December, the company accounted for 88% of passenger car sales in the domestic market.
The situation on the international market, where they have been, is more difficult duties on Chinese vehicles increased. At the end of October, for example, the European Commission adopted a regulation imposing additional tariffs on electric cars imported from China. For BYD the increase was set at 17%. The United States and Canada have increased tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles to 100% in 2024.
Despite these obstacles, in December BYD sold 57,154 vehicles outside China, with an increase of 58.3% on an annual basis.
