Tallink’s passenger numbers decreased in December and throughout the fourth quarter

Shipping company Tallink transported 460,786 passengers in December, which is 6.2 percent less than in December 2023, the company informs.

In the fourth quarter of last year, Tallink transported approximately 1.3 million passengers, or 2.2 percent less than at the same time last year.

Both on a monthly and a quarterly level, the decrease was strongest in traffic between Finland and Sweden, while traffic between Estonia and Finland weighed less on the decrease. In December, passenger numbers even increased by 1.4 percent between Estonia and Finland.

In December, 57,955 passenger vehicles were transported, i.e. 2.7 percent less than the comparison period. The October-December reading was 164,586, or 4.8 percent less than the previous year

The number of freight units was 18,851 from December, which meant a 16.3 percent slip. The figure for October-December was 64,606, or 15.2 percent less than in the comparison period.
