Several flights diverted in France due to fog

A Boeing 738 from the Ryanair airline was indeed forced to abort its landing in the Touraine city because of the fog falling over the city, report France Bleu and La Nouvelle République. This flight number FR-8764 from Marrakech, Morocco, had to be diverted to the airport of the Auvergne capital, located almost 340 km away! The 178 passengers on the flight left by bus during the day, according to the Border Police and the airport.

Flights canceled and delayed also in England

Same scenario elsewhere in the territory, such as at Caen-Carpiquet airport (Calvados). Several flights were canceled this Friday due to heavy fog. Arriving flights were diverted to Nantes airport (Loire-Atlantique). Same thing, in the Jura, Friday. A Ryanair flight – again – from Fez, initially scheduled to land in Dole, was diverted to Lyon airport due to unfavorable weather conditions. Across the Channel, air traffic was still disrupted this Saturday at several major British airports, causing hundreds of delays and cancellations, due to thick fog, the British air traffic control service said. The British capital’s airports are the most affected, including Heathrow and Gatwick, which are the busiest in the country. Manchester Airport is also affected.
