Central Chamber of Commerce: The proportion of women in the management teams of listed companies rose to a new record

Almost every third member of the management teams is a woman. 10 percent of CEOs of listed companies are women.

Women’s the share of members of the management teams of listed companies rose to 30 percent for the first time this year, according to the Keskuskauppakamari’s overview of female managers.

New records were also achieved in the share of women CEOs. There are now 13 women as managing directors in listed companies, which corresponds to ten percent of all managing directors of listed companies.

In large listed companies, the proportion of women among the members of management teams rose to 32 percent this year. In medium-sized listed companies, the share of women remained at last year’s record level of 30 percent.

The biggest increase was seen in small listed companies, where the share of women among members of management teams rose by four percentage points to 28 percent.

Women and men are equally represented at the management team level in 28 percent of listed companies.

From the positive despite the development, the leading expert of the Central Chamber of Commerce Ville Kajala is concerned that the share of women is still growing slowly. The risk is that due to the board quotas coming into effect in 2026, some of the current female members of management teams will become board professionals, and thus the number of women leaving management teams will increase.

“The upcoming regulation will require a total of about 60 more women on the boards of listed companies. Including the usual rotation of board members, we are easily talking about at least a hundred women”, Kajala says in the press release of the Central Chamber of Commerce.
