The Vietnamese team received a rain of bonuses for winning the ASEAN Cup

On the evening of January 5, defeating Thailand 3-2 in the second leg of the final, the Vietnamese team won the Southeast Asian championship for the third time, with a final score of 5-3.

Loc Phat Bank Vietnam (LPBank) announced that it would reward the Vietnamese team with an additional 3 billion VND after their victory over Thailand after the second leg of the final. Previously, in the first leg of the final, this bank awarded the team 2 billion VND.

Hanoi People’s Committee also announced to donate 2 billion VND to the team. The Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) awarded the Vietnamese team 1 billion VND, bringing the total amount of money the bank gave to the team to 2 billion VND.

In addition, this bank offers a reward equivalent to 10,000 USD to the player who scores the most goals. At the end of ASEAN Cup 2024, Nguyen Xuan Son was the player who scored the most goals for the Vietnamese team, with 7 goals.

Two billion is also the amount of money SHB Bank gave to the Vietnamese team when they won the Southeast Asian championship. Bau Hien’s bank previously sponsored 600 fans on a series of flights to Bangkok to cheer on the national team.

With the championship, the team also received a reward worth 300,000 USD from the tournament organizers, equivalent to more than 7.5 billion VND.

After the nearly 110-minute final return match at Thailand’s Rajamangala National Stadium, Vietnam won with a score of 3-2. Tuan Hai and Hai Long each scored one goal, in addition to Pansa Hemviboon’s own goal. Thus, after 2 matches, Vietnam won with a total score of 5 – 3 to be crowned champion. This is the third time in history that Vietnam has been crowned in the region’s highest arena, after the 2008 and 2018 editions, when the tournament was still called the AFF Cup.
