Energy check: this is the last day to claim this aid

Only a few hours left to show up, then it will be too late. If you wish to benefit from the energy check, which allows the most modest households to partially pay their bills, this Tuesday, December 31 marks the last day to complete the request for the year which is ending. Nearly 5.6 million households can benefit from it each year.

Those who already benefited from this boost in 2023 in principle automatically received their 2024 energy check in April, underlines the system’s website. But if this is not your case and you think you are eligible for this aid, you can make the request on the dedicated platform before midnight: https://chequeenergie2024.asp-public.fr. A communication campaign by email and SMS was also carried out to inform potential beneficiaries of their rights.

A 10 to 15 minute process

The amount of the check scales according to income and the composition of the household. It varies between 48 euros and 194 euros for a single person whose income does not exceed 11,000 euros per year. For a couple with a child, this amount can go up to 277 euros. The details of the scale can be found on the website of the Ministry of the Economy. The check, registered in the name, can be used to pay electricity, gas, heating bills, etc. It is sent to the beneficiary’s home and is valid until March 31, 2025.

The process of requesting help will take you between 10 and 15 minutes in total. Several pieces of information must be provided: your mobile phone number, all your 2022 income tax notices, a copy of your identity document, and finally a copy of an invoice or an energy contract certificate of less than three months, which is valid and in your name. Please note that beneficiaries who have already received their energy check this year can request to have the amount reassessed if their income has changed. The allocated amount will then be recalculated on the basis of the 2022 income tax declared in 2023.
