Uber’s rival in Europe recruits drivers in Vietnam

Bolt – a ride-hailing application from Europe – began to move to enter the Vietnamese market when recruiting staff and drivers in Ho Chi Minh City.

Bolt is the first ride-hailing application in Europe and is also one of Uber’s main competitors in this market. The application was founded in 2013, headquartered in Estonia.

To date, the company is present in more than 50 countries with services ranging from car booking, car and motorbike rental to food and grocery delivery. Bolt said it has 4.6 million driver and delivery partners serving over 200 million users.

Recently, this business has made many moves to enter the Vietnamese market. Bolt has posted vacancies for team leader, customer support and operations specialists with work locations in Ho Chi Minh City.

Currently, the website of this ride-hailing application has a Vietnamese option. Bolt has also opened a registration section to become a driver partner in Ho Chi Minh City on the website. At the same time, the company also runs driver recruitment ads on several social networking platforms with an income of millions of dong per week.

Registrations to become Bolt’s delivery partners, restaurants, and fleet owners are not yet available in the Vietnamese market.

Bolt’s website has Vietnamese language support and recruits drivers in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to market research firm Mordor Intelligence (India), the scale of Vietnam’s ride-hailing market is estimated to reach 880 million USD in 2024 and is expected to reach 2.16 billion USD in 2029, with a growth rate of 19.5%. in the period 2024-2029.

This market currently has the presence of Grab, Xanh SM, and Be. However, the level of competition in this field in Vietnam is also quite fierce. Last year, Gojek had to withdraw from Vietnam after 6 years of operation. Previously, Uber also ended its operations in Vietnam in April 2018.
