Strike Fridays are back: on January 10th buses, trains and planes will stop

Transport workers are once again folding their arms. The first transport strike of 2025 has been called for Friday 10 January which will see buses, trains, planes, but also schools stop.

Malpensa and Linate workers stop

It will be a difficult day for the passengers who will pass through Malpensa and Linate where the personnel of the Milanese aviation sector will stay for 24 hours.

Double strike for the railway sector

Railway infrastructure maintainers have called a double strike. The first, Thursday 9 January, was called by the 24-hour national transport club union. Among the reasons for the protest was the failure to renew the contract for railway activities. The following day the same maintenance workers will join the protest called by Cobas and the National Assembly of Infrastructure Maintenance Workers. The latter could be revoked due to the rules that regulate the right to strike and provide for a “break” of at least 24 hours between one protest and another for the same category.

A Milano the strike will affect the workers of the Atm Group with staff unrest possible from 8.45 to 12.45.

A Roma the agitation will affect the Atac network and the peripheral lines managed by private operators from 8.30 to 12.30. of Cobas Private Work and of the Railway Coordination and of the National Assembly of Maintenance Workers RFI. A NapoliEav communicates that OS CONF.AIL has proclaimed a 4-hour national strike, from 7.32pm to 11.32pm, with the following motivation: “Problems relating to Local Public Transport”. In Naples the strike will therefore take place in the evening.

The world of school

It could also be a complicated day for those who have to take their children to school. On Friday, teachers could respond to the appeal of the CSLE (Confederation of European Workers’ Unions) which wants an “increase in salaries to bring them into line with European standards”.
