Transport Minister Miri Regev published an announcement on the social network X, according to which her department received a budget for the design of the railway to Eilat and began work on the project.
The message also lists other projects for the development of the railway network, including the Karmiel-Kiryat Shmona branch (at an advanced stage of design), the branch to Tiberias, the extension of the high-speed railway to Jerusalem, the construction of additional track for freight trains in the Lod area, the high-speed railway to Beersheba, etc.
