With historical simplification, the SAT intends to collect 5.3 bdp

The Tax Administration Service (SAT) presented its 2025 Master Plan to collect 5.3 billion pesos without creating new taxes and one of the most important lines of action is control against evasion and smuggling, especially in foreign trade, reported the agency in the document that outlines the actions to follow.

Economic sectors at high risk of evasion by large taxpayers will be reviewed and the fight against smuggling and in-depth inspection of foreign trade will be strengthened.highlighted the authority. At the same time, he announced, it will be launched the most important simplification and digitalization of procedures in the history of Mexico.

The SAT will focus on detecting abuses related to the certification of the special tax on production and services (IEPS) and the value added tax (VAT) and the improper application of the zero VAT rate.

At the same time, it will monitor that abuses do not arise in the introduction of goods with preferential tariff treatment, in the non-return of temporary importsand that there is no incorrect customs valuation.

In addition, it will put into practice analytical techniques to monitor and detect irregularities in tax and employer obligations, as well as in the marketing and distribution of fuels; while using statistical learning models to identify the will invoiceto its users and irregular behavior in importing companies.

The SAT reported that it will also focus on the identification and monitoring of atypical VAT, IEPS and ISR refund requests.

To combat evasion, the SAT highlighted the exchange of information and coordination with other federal authorities such as the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF), the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) and the Institute of the National Housing Fund for workers (Infonavit), among others.

The organization emphasized that it will review economic sectors that have shown a high risk of evasion. We are going to maintain republican austerity, financial and fiscal discipline. The other two axes of the 2025 Master Plan are taxpayer service and support for compliant taxpayers, so those who have annual income of up to 35 million pesos will be able to correct their debts with a 100 percent reduction on surcharges, fines and expenses. of execution.
