Energy demand may break the historical record and they warn of possible power outages

“The demand has a high probability of reach or exceed current energy and power records (597.7 GWh and 29,653 MW),” said the Wholesale Electricity Market Administration Company (CAMMESA), in the latest weekly report.

In this sense and so that the service does not suffer as usually happens during recent summers, the possibility of importing energy will be taken into account. And the first to be consulted to buy will be Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia and Chile. Depending, of course, on the availability in each of the countries.

So far, and according to what they published, “transport and distribution conditions are under normal conditions.”

According to published forecasts, the worst situation is expected for this Thursday. It is estimated that there will be a “peak demand” of 29,662 MW, which would be a new record. The historical maximum of energy consumption was on February 1 of last year: 29,653 MW.

With the published report, the electrical service administrators warn in advance that the “very high demand” may cause some cuts in the service.
