Fresh capital for Ghent start-up that developed a health scan with a smartphone camera

IntelliProve developed health monitoring using the smartphone camera that is already in use in some countries.

More specifically, the software start-up developed a health scan that measures parameters such as heart rate, breathing and stress. The optical facial scan produces “digital biopsies” that can be used, for example, in preventive healthcare. The software obtains health information based on, among other things, subtle color changes that are the result of blood flow in the face.

IntelliProve, founded in 2021, has worked from the start with health players such as the Wit-Gele Kruis and residential care center operator Zorg-Saam, as well as imec.instart and TU Delft, a Dutch university. For example, last year the software was tested by home nurses from the Wit-Gele Kruis.

The company is active in seven Western European countries, including Germany, the Netherlands and France. In Belgium, the health insurance funds Helan and Neutraal Ziekenfonds Vlaanderen are customers. In 2024, turnover quadrupled.

At the current pace, the company says it will have performed 10 billion health measurements by 2028.
