STOCK EXCHANGE: Opening of decline in Europe

After a while of trading, the broad Stoxx 600 index was up 0.4 percent. France’s CAC 40 index was up 1.0 percent, Germany’s DAX index was up 0.3 percent and Britain’s FTSE 100 index was up 0.2 percent. Sweden’s OMXS30 index was up 0.4 percent.

British Burberry announced its interim report for the third quarter of its financial year on Friday. The company’s net sales declined less than expected, as reported sales were four percent lower than the comparison period. Analysts expected a 12 percent decline in the last quarter. Sales were supported by good development in the United States.

Burberry commented that avoiding an operational loss is now more likely for the entire financial period. In the first half of the year, the company’s operating loss was 41 million pounds.

Swedish network company Ericsson announced today its fourth quarter interim report.

The turnover of the company listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in October–December 2024 was SEK 72.9 billion. It hit the spot Factsetin to the expectations of the consensus of 14 analysts. In the comparison period of October–December 2023, the company had a turnover of 71.9 billion kroner.

Adjusted earnings per share were SEK 1.44. Analysts’ consensus expected earnings per share of SEK 2.18.
