Trains, weekends of strikes and disruptions. There will be no guaranteed slots

Possible inconveniences for rail transport users are expected from Saturday evening, which will extend throughout Sunday. Some independent trade unions – Cub Trasporti, Usb and Sgb – have proclaimed a national staff strike.

From 9pm on Saturday 25th January to 8.59pm on Sunday 26th trains may undergo “cancellations or changes” given the agitation of the staff FS Group, Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper and Trenord.Industrial unrest may lead to changes to the service even before it begins and after it ends.

Sunday’s strike does not include guarantee bands. Passengers who intend to cancel the trip can request a refund starting from the declaration of strike: until the departure time of the booked train, for Intercity and Frecce; until midnight on the day preceding the strike, for regional trains; alternatively they can reschedule the trip, under similar transport conditions depending on seat availability.

They will be crossing their armsmaintenance workers, train drivers, train conductors, hall staff circulation of RFI and Trenitalia and maintenance workers. A year has passed, USB recalls, “since nefarious agreement of January 10, 2024 in the infrastructure maintenance sector”.

An agreement which, “as we have reiterated from the first day of this affair, we believe should be considered the point of arrival of a path towards downwards working conditions in this sector, desired by the company and supported by the complicit unions”.

The union acronym specifies: “We believe that strikes must express a force concentrated on unifying issues for all workers. And on these premises we will include the maintenance sector in the strike on 25-26 January, together with all the workers of the ‘railway operation’.
