In the year of the war in Israel, there was a sharp increase in bicycle demand

According to the tax administration, in 2024, 354.4 thousand bicycles without an electric drive were imported into Israel, which is 27% more than 2023 and 41% more than 2022, the Calcalist reports.

According to experts, a sharp increase became the result of the year of the war, when the greater number of Israelis needed the opportunity to leave the house and ventilate.

A similar phenomenon, only on an even larger scale, was observed in 2021, when 564 thousand bicycles were sold after the quarantines removal, which is an absolute record that is unlikely to be broken in the foreseeable future.

At the same time, the import of electric bikes and electric scooters only repeated the 2022 indicator – a little more than 43 thousand units. Record, 53 thousand units, was also set in 2021.
