Verkkokauppa.com’s net sales decreased – profitability improved

Consumer electronics chain Verkkokauppa.com With a turnover of EUR 140.2 million, a comparable operating profit of EUR 3.8 million in October-December last year. The result accounted for 2.7 % of net sales.

At the corresponding period of 2023, net sales were EUR 150.6 million and comparable income of EUR 1.6 million, or 1.1 % of net sales.

Information service Factsetin The average of the forecasts collected from the three analysts expected a turnover of EUR 154.4 million and a comparable profit of EUR 1.1 million.

The figures are from the company’s bulletin in which it published unpunished pre -existing information on its last year’s earnings.

Profit margin and savings measures supported the result

According to the release, the decline in sales was due to poor demand, especially in discretionary product categories such as TVs, phones and games.

“The result of the performance improvement was the higher sales margin and savings,” the company’s CEO Panu Porkka Comment on the last quarter of the year.

For the whole year, net sales were EUR 467.8 million and comparable operating profit of EUR 1.8 million, or 0.4 % of net sales.

The previous year the turnover was EUR 502.9 million. The comparable result was EUR 6.1 million, or 1.2 % of net sales.

Today, the company published proposals from its Nomination Committee as Board Members. This bulletin contained accidental information on the 2024 turnover, which is why the company decided to publish pre -information on last year’s earnings.

The bulletin introduced Verkkokauppa.com. The wrong year and turnover had ended up in the presentation text. The announcement reported that the turnover of 2024 was EUR 468 million, which had to read that the turnover was EUR 503 million in 2023.
