Patria sells armored wagons to Germany – predicts the upcoming billion shop

Finnish Patria of the Defense Supplies Company has agreed to sell armored 6×6 wagons to the German Defense Forces, Bundeswehr.

The store now is the first batch of wagons, which are 6×6 wagons with a Nemo grenade launcher.

The value of the transaction is approximately EUR 50 million.

This would also be, for example, tanker vehicles used for crew transport.

The future trade indicates that Patria is made a binding offer 300 of the sales of 300 armored 6×6 vehicles to Germany. These vehicles would be manufactured in Germany in cooperation with German defense supplies DSL and FFG.

With these wagons, Germany would replace its previous Fuchs vehicle equipment.

Now The contract is a so-called work package that includes command and steering wagons in addition to NEMO grenade launches. In addition, these wagons are integrated into German systems.

“The development and qualification of new CAVS variants is done in close cooperation with German industry and future series production will be implemented with our previously published industrial partners KNDS, FFG and JWT,” says Patria’s international business director Jukka Holker in the company’s bulletin.

Wagon shop The background is a multinational CAVS armored vehicle project, which aims to develop an armored 6×6 vehicle system for its member countries.

So far, Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Germany have joined the program, which started in 2020. The program is open to European countries that have the same needs. Bearing in the program allows countries to order wagons without heavy and time -consuming official tendering.

Patria 6×6 was selected as a joint vehicle platform for the project in 2019.

So far, the countries that have joined the program have already ordered a total of about 800 armored vehicles from Patria, of which more than 200 have already been delivered.
