YIT sold nearly 600 apartments last year: “There are no signs of a strong recovery of the housing market”

However, the company says that housing sales have increased in all its operating countries. Last year, consumer sales in housing increased by more than 30 percent from year ago.

YIT believes his reserves will continue to decline and reach normal this year.

In Finland, December was the best sales month for the whole year.

In total, YIT sold 589 apartments to consumers in Finland last year. Of these, 174 were sold in the last quarter.

However, the number of finished unsold homes remained high. At the end of the year, YIT still had 700 unsold homes in Finland.

Managing director Heikki Vuorenmaa says the company will remain realistic about the recovery of the Finnish housing market.

“However, there are no clear signs of a strong recovery of the Finnish housing market in 2025,” he says in the company’s release.

However, there is enough faith in the future company that last year it launched four new housing projects in selected cities, supported by local demand. That means 160 apartments.

The company’s housing sales grew in the last quarter of YIT in all countries of operation. In the Baltic States and Eastern Central European countries, the rest of the year was the best quarter of a consumer sales in three years.

The company’s adjusted operating profit remained at EUR 13 million, at the same level as a year ago.
