Munich Conference Survey: Global Burnout in Israel because of the war

On the occasion of the conference, the organized body has published the results of a global survey that examined the positions in a series of key countries towards other countries. The published data shows that there is “a significant decrease in Israel’s positive image in the past year.” According to the data, there is also a global drop in the US positive image.

In fact, the data included in the report shows a decrease in the Israeli positive image in the past year in all countries examined, through the question “whether Israel has an alliance or threat.” The sharpest decline (minus 12%) was recorded in Italy and France (minus 11%). Germany (minus 8%) and the United Kingdom (Minus 9%) also presented a picture of a deterioration in support of Israel in Europe.

The trend was also evident in Asia: in Japan (minus 8%), in China (minus 4%). In the US, there was a 4% decrease in support in Israel, and India was the lowest decline – only one less than compared to a survey results in October 2023.

The survey editors also presented the proportion of sympathy against Israel in the public in selected countries, as an estimate of the proportion of residents who said Israel owns an alliance of their country, less the rate of residents who said Israel is a possible threat. In this respect, the most pro-Israeli state is the US, where the gap was 37%for the benefit of Israel a friend.

In Europe, the picture is harder: the gap in favor of supporters in Israel is only 1% in Italy, and only 6% in Germany. Japan has mostly negative emotions towards Israel, and a proportion of Israel defines as an enemy in 14% of those who define Israel as a friend.
