Viking Line’s result was sinking – this year there will be no growth growth

Shipping company Viking Linen Net sales in October to December were EUR 109.5 million and operating profit of EUR 1.5 million.

In the year -to -one, the company had net sales of EUR 112.2 million and operating profit of EUR 2.7 million.

The company made an operating profit of EUR 26.7 million throughout the year with a turnover of EUR 480.2 million. During the comparison period, the result was EUR 55 million with a turnover of EUR 491.4 million.

The company does not have analyst monitoring or thus no earnings forecasts.

The company’s Board of Directors proposes that it be authorized to distribute a dividend of up to EUR 1.0 per share, divided into two installments so that 50 cents will be paid in May and the second installment to be paid in September 2025. The previous financial year was also paid a dividend per share of the euro.

The company estimates that the result of 2025 before taxes will be at 2024.

“There is considerable uncertainty in our traffic area, caused by the economic downturn in recent years, which has had a negative impact on customer consumption habits. Uncertainties also include the prevailing geopolitical situation and its effects mainly on energy prices, ”the company estimates in its views.

“The result of the year 2024 corresponded to the forecast for the market after the third quarter of the year, but was lower than in the record year 2023. The result before taxes was EUR 19.8 million. Although the result was lower than the previous year, the result level achieved is clearly better than before Pandemia, ”describes the CEO Jan Hanses in the profit file.
