Kelly Ortberg, the top man of the troubled American aircraft manufacturer Boeing, has to witnesses in April for a senate committee about the steps that the group has taken to tackle safety and quality problems. This happens after a series of incidents with its devices.
In January last year, for example, a new Boeing 737 Max 9 from Alaska Airlines had to make an emergency landing due to the loss of a door panel during the flight. Later more defects were found in Boeing aircraft.
The American aircraft manufacturer has been under stricter supervision of the US aviation authority FAA and other authorities in Washington for more than a year. “Given the earlier missteps and problems of Boeing, the flying public deserves to hear which changes are being made to restore the damaged reputation of the company,” said the Republican senator and chairman of the TED Cruz committee in a statement.
