Employees of subcontractors Audi block access to factory in Vorst

Around 200 employees of subcontractors of Audi Brussels blocked the four entrances to the site in Vorst on Friday morning from 5.15 am. They protest against the social plan that was introduced to them.

The Brussels factory of Audi, where around 3,000 people work, will close its doors at the end of this month. But the closure also has consequences for the subcontractors of the factory.

The activists find the proposed premium too low. At Imperial Logistics, a branch of DP World, there is amounts between 962 and 3,500 euros gross, or between 200 and 300 euros per year seniority. Trade union representatives at Rhenus Logistics are talking about comparable amounts. At the two companies that employ around 400 people, all jobs are at the trip.

Employees of four subcontractors (Rhenus, DP World (Imperial Logistics), Mosolf and Sese) participated in the promotion. There was another meeting on Friday between trade union representatives of the subcontractors and the management of the Autofabriek.
