Foreigners Tourists spent EUR 3.7 billion in Finland last year, says Business Finland. A total of 4.9 million trips to Finland were made. Tourists arrived from 106 countries.
On average, those visited in Finland spent € 764 per trip. For example, money went to accommodation, restaurants and cafes, fuel, movement, culture, sports, recreation and shopping.
“The Chinese and the United States used the most money per trip. Seasonally, winter travelers spend more money than summer travelers, ”Visit Finland expert Katarina Wakonen says in the bulletin.
About three quarters of trips were leisure trips and a quarter of commuting.
The information is based on statistics produced by Visit Finland and Statistics Finland, which consisted of last year’s interviews with more than 6,800 foreign travelers.
