The commissioning of the “green” branch of the Tel Aviv tram will linger for another year

The NTA company and the Ministry of Transport reported the next delay in the commissioning of the “green” tram branch into the gush dan, which should connect Rishon Lezi and Holon with Tel Aviv and Herzlia.

Initially, the “green” branch was supposed to work in 2027. In the fall of 2024, the Ministry of Transport announced the shift of the deadlines for 2029, and now full commissioning is expected only in 2030.

In 2028, it is planned to put into operation only the southern line of the line, between Rishon Le-Prion and Levinsky Street in Tel Aviv.

The “purple” branch of the tram connecting Tel Aviv, Givataim, Ramat-Ghan, Givat-Shmuel, Kiryat-Oon, Or-Yegudu, Yehud-Monoson and Givat-Shmuel should begin to work in the summer of 2028.
