Hose and HNX operating units are estimated at record interests

In the business results report to the Ministry of Finance, VNX – the parent company of the Ho Chi Minh City Transaction Office (HOSE) and Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) – estimated total revenue last year approximately VND 2,240 billion .

HOSE contributed about VND 1,680 billion, and HNX brought back 517 billion dong. The remaining 40 billion dong comes from professional and financial activities.

After deducting expenses, VNX temporarily calculated after the tax of 2,203 billion dong, increasing sharply compared to 1,920 billion dong of 2023. This is the highest level since this business started operating 4 years ago on the basis of Merse HOSE and HNX. Compared to the period of 2022 when VN-Index is in the trend of strong price increase (uptrend) to the top of 1,528 points, this interest is also 5%higher.

The results are estimated to exceed both the old and new business targets updated according to the opinion of the Ministry of Finance – the State representative unit owning 100% capital at VNX. Specifically, at the beginning of last year, VNX submitted to the Ministry of Finance the target of after the consolidated tax profit of VND 1,423 billion. The company adjusted significantly to VND 1,987 billion at the end of the year.

VNX officially operates between 2021 according to the model of the parent company and subsidiary. The merging of HOSE and HNX became two subsidiaries to unify the organizational model, mechanisms, policies, development thinking and information technology infrastructure to serve the market.

VNX’s business results flourish thanks to the liquidity of the stock market last year growing 2 digits. Securities liquidity difference in the first half and the end of the year. However, according to Rong Viet Securities Company, the average trading value per session on three exchanges (HOSE, HNX and UPCoM) still reached more than VND 18,500 billion, up 22% compared to the previous year.

According to the statistics of the Vietnam Securities Depository Center, last year, the market welcomed 2 million new accounts, which is an average of 166,000 accounts each month. This is the year with the second highest highest opening account growth in history, only after 2022.

During the early spring of 2025, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi asked this year’s securities industry to put the focus on the system of stable and smooth systems, avoiding slow errors. According to him, the new information technology system (KRX) has come to the final test step and determined to operate this year. This will help the securities industry no longer complain “so slow or so long” and not to investors and businesses lose the opportunity to trade and mobilize capital.

Mr. Chi also emphasized that he could not delay further upgrading. He suggested that the management agencies and listed businesses need to be responsible and quickly implement the regulations to avoid missing the opportunity to attract more capital when Vietnam’s securities become emerging markets.
