Audi Brussels no longer blocked after intervention bailiff (inland)

The Audi Brussels factory in Vorst has recently been accessible before 2 pm on Wednesday, reports spokesperson Peter D’Hoore. The employees of suppliers who blocked the factory entrances left after the intervention of a bailiff.

“This afternoon the thirty employees of the suppliers to the entrances of the Audi factory in Vorst was informed by the bailiff about the content of the judicial decision,” said D’hoore. “After this, the manifesters of the suppliers left the entrances and up -to -date access to the factory is again possible.”

The company had announced legal steps against the campaigners on Tuesday and Audi also denounced that the campaigners were very aggressive and caused destruction. Employees of suppliers took action because they want a higher severance payment now that they also lose their job due to the closure of the Audi factory. They have been blocking the factory since Tuesday morning, after they had already done that last Friday.

The factory will definitely close its doors at the end of this month, so that also with subcontractors such as Imperial Logistics and Rhenus Logistics, both employing around 400 people, all jobs will disappear.

At Audi Brussels itself, the management and trade unions reached an agreement on a social plan at the end of January after months of negotiations. The production of the Q8 e-tron was temporarily restarted, with only a morning team and at a lower band speed. The company could not yet indicate on Wednesday when the production would be resumed again now that the site was no longer blocked.
