“However, in orange juice, the proportion of raw materials in the price is significant in the same way as, say, coffee or chocolate, which has also seen a sharp rise in world market prices lately,” says Research Director Sari Forsman-Hugg Pellervo’s Economic Survey.

However, according to Forsman-Hugg, the decline in the world market price now may not lower the price of juices at all. This is because prices in the world market were at their peak last fall.

“These high world market prices may not yet be fully allocated to consumer prices in retail. In any case, the price level in the world market is still high, and prices can be sawn from now on. ”

The consumer price index does not indicate the price development of orange juice alone, but in general, consumer prices for juice have risen by 5.7 per cent per year. From December to January, juices tilted by 0.76 percent.

On the market The juices found on the shelf have high price differences and, of course, quality differences.

In the S Group’s Prisma online store, the price per liter of orange juice ranged from EUR 5.27 and EUR 1.66 on Wednesday. The price per liter of juice directly from the oranges in the shop was € 5.25 per liter in a bottle of 0.95 liters.

The price per kilo of orange itself ranged from € 0.69 to € 2.99. The cheapest price was with Egyptian orange. At the Ruoholahti Citymarket online store, the price per kilo of orange ranged from € 0.99 to € 3.99.
