The value of the Bitcoin has dropped under 90,000 dollars for the first time on Tuesday in more than three months. Some scandals weigh on the cryptomarkt in general, in the aftermath of an unseen boom after the election of Donald Trump as American president.
Around 9 o’clock Belgian time the Bitcoin raged around $ 89,400. It is about the lowest level since mid -November. Other crypto coins, such as Ether and Solana, also had substantial reduction in value.
After the re -election of Trump at the beginning of November, crypto coins started a steep rise. The Bitcoin even reached a new record of more than $ 109,000 at the end of January. However, since Trump’s oath on January 20, the Bitcoin lost about one fifth of its value.
The youngest correction seems to be mainly inspired by the hacking of Bybit, one of the largest cryptom markets in the world: last Friday it became known that $ 1.5 billion in Ether could be cut away from a wallet of the platform. According to analysts, the hackers would have ties with North Korea.
A week earlier there was also a crypto scandal. Argentinian President Javier Milei had promoted a new crypto coin on his social media, the founders later accused of scams.
