US president Donald Trump intends to set a 25 % import duties on the European Union, says Financial Times.
The tariffs would probably be at least cars.
“We have made the decision and we will announce it very soon,” Trump commented on Wednesday at his cabinet meeting.
“Generally speaking it [tulli] is 25 % and it applies to cars and all other things. ”
According to Trump, the EU is “established to cheat the United States”.
Already on Wednesday evening, the European Commission responded that it would respond to the unjustified barriers to the free and fair trade, and immediately, says the Financial Times.
Trump, who started his office in January, has already ordered a 25 % import duties for Mexico and Canada. Their implementation is currently suspended.
A 10 % additional duty has been set for Chinese imports.
In addition, Trump has imposed 25 % import duties for steel and aluminum. They will take effect in March.
