According to the report of the American Cybersecurity company Radware, in 2024 the number of DDOS attacks (cyber attacks designed to paralyze the action of sites and servers by overloading them) increased 6 times compared to 2023.
Most often, Ukraine (2052 attacks) became the object of DDOS attacks last year, Israel (1550 attacks) in second place, in third place-the United States.
In 2023, Israel took only the fourth position, inferior to India, the USA and Ukraine.
In total, 78% of attacks were on Europe and the Middle East.
Most attacks were carried out by four hacker groups – the pro -Russian noname057 (16), the “freelancer” Executor DDOS, selling their services to those who wish, the missing Rippersec and the pro -Russian Cyber Army of Russia Reborn.
The authors of the report also note an increase in the duration and intensity of attacks by an average of 37% and 120%, respectively. The main goal of DDOS attacks remains communications companies, however, a 5-fold increase in attacks on financial institutions and companies in the field of transport and logistics is noted.
