Telecoms: Behind the scenes of the secret “bunker” where Orange manages its global networks

This is how telecoms experts call this highly strategic place. In this large room invaded by computers, Orange technicians scrutinize live the immense infrastructure network that the group has around the world. Because beyond the terrestrial fiber networks which cross France through huge highways stuffed with wires, Orange-via its marine orange subsidiary-also manages hundreds of thousands of cables under the seas and oceans, land fiber networks in Africa (where the operator is well installed) and long-distance fiber amplifiers, installed every 80 km of the terrestrial network. In total, the French historic operator is present in more than 1,000 destinations and more than 200 countries.
