Vingroup returned to the top 10 largest market capitalization companies

At the end of the trading session on March 3, VIC’s shares of Vingroup increased by 2% to VND 42,050 per share. The matching volume reached nearly 3 million units. This is also the highest price of this stock since the beginning of the year.

Vingroup’s capitalization reached 160,780 billion dong, an increase of 3,200 billion dong compared to the end of the week. With the increase on March 3, the Group of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong surpassed Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS, Securities Code: GAS) to reach the top 10 largest market capitalization companies in Vietnam’s stock market.

Session 3/3, not only VIC shares but also other ‘Vingroup’ shares also increased. Among them, VHM of Vinhomes increased by 3.3%, VRE of Vincom Retail increased by 1.72%. Both VIC, VHM, and VRE were the 3 most strongest stocks in the VN30 group, thereby helping VN-Index increased by more than 4 points.

In 2024, Vingroup achieved VND 192,159 billion and profit after tax was 5,251 billion dong, an increase of 19% and 155% compared to 2023, exceeding the plan of the General Meeting of Shareholders. The main motivation for the Group will set this year’s revenue record from handing over real estate at the projects, especially Vinhomes Royal Island, and the growth from the electric vehicle.

In particular, revenue from real estate transfer this year accounts for VND 93,000 billion and revenue from the production segment is VND 53,000 billion. The remaining arrays accounted for nearly 46,000 billion. New technology – industry, 2024 marks the important milestone of VinFast when officially rising to the No. 1 position in the Vietnamese automobile market with nearly 88,000 vehicles handed over.

Vietcombank (Code: VCB) is still the largest capitalization unit in Vietnam’s stock market, reaching more than VND 521,000 billion. Vietcombank has held this position since 2021, replacing Vingroup itself. Vingroup’s market capitalization has now been over 361,000 billion VND behind Vietcombank. Among the top 10 largest market capitalization companies, there are 4 banks including Vietcombank, BIDV, Vietinbank and Techcombank. In the top 5 there is no appearance of a private company.
