39.3% investment of Pemex and CFE in infrastructure decreases

The expenditure of state companies, Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), under construction, conservation of works and acquisition of goods, collapsed 39.3 percent this January, in line with a generalized reduction in physical investment, reported the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP).

In the case of Pemex, its physical investment was 27 thousand 33 million pesos in January, data that showed a collapse of 40.5 percent in real terms, that is, discounting the effect of inflation, on the 43 thousand 841 million pesos reported in the first month of 2024.

In conference with investors and analysts, managers of the State Company acknowledged that it faces an important budget restriction, so a strategy has had to be devised to recover production levels, both oil and oil and oil, as well as solve working capital problems.

For this year, the Congress of the Union approved that the CFE GASE 60 thousand 861 million pesos in physical investment, which includes electrical infrastructure projects, administrative real estate, maintenance, acquisitions and investment projects deferred in spending.
