The United Nations resumed negotiations on the Global Plastic Treaty

Countries agreed to postpone important decisions for the new session, called Inc-5.2.

The most divided problem on the negotiating table includes the terms of production restrictions, management of plastic products and chemicals worth paying attention. In addition, the funding for developing countries is also controversial.

The plastic treaty expects to create a roadmap towards a reduction of global plastic production, while countries supporting oil and petrochemicals do not want to limit this type of production.

However, analysts are concerned that the approach to an agreement in the next round of negotiations has more obstacles in the context of geopolitical changes and stressful diplomatic relations.
