Depot of Cora Blocked, reports trade union BBTK

The depot from which the seven hypermarkets of Cora are supplied was blocked on Thursday morning. This is reported by the socialist servant bond BBTK. The blockade comes in response to the continuing uncertainty about the future of the stores and the absence of an answer from the management.

BBTK recalls that Louis Delhaize, the group above Cora, has divested different parts in recent years. As a result, there are now only seven hypermarkets, the store galleries in which they are located and the depot in the hands of the group. They are good for 2,000 jobs and another 2,000 at the various chains that are present in the galleries.

“We can no longer reassure the 2,000 Cora employees. They have been experiencing their third restructuring and reorganization wave since 2015, “says BBTK chairman Myriam Delmée. “The management of Cora puts its head in the sand. We discussed all the questions of the management to meet each other and did not avoid any debate. We expect the same from her. (…) With this blockade the employees give a clear signal: enough is enough. “
