Hungary is ready to help train 1,000 nuclear power experts

At the meeting with Hungary’s Foreign Minister and Foreign Economy Szijjártótr, Puter on March 19, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the country to support Vietnam to train high quality human resources in the field of operating nuclear power plants.

“This is the strength of Hungary and Vietnam are in urgent need,” the Prime Minister said. At the same time, he said that Vietnam agreed that the two sides reviewed the legal framework for bilateral cooperation, soon negotiated the agreement on receiving citizens and cooperation agreements in the field of labor.

Minister Szijjártótro Péer affirmed that with 50 years of operating the nuclear power plant according to the technology of the Russian Federation, Hungary is ready to cooperate, helping to train Vietnam for 1,000 experts in operating the nuclear power plant. They consider this a strategic cooperation area between the two countries.

Vietnam restarts Ninh Thuan nuclear power project, with two factories No. 1 and 2 located in Phuoc Hai and Vinh Hai communes. It is expected that the first factory will operate (generate) in 2030, by the end of 2031 to ensure economic and social development.

According to calculations by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the demand for human resources to operate the nuclear power plant with 2 units (capacity of 2,000 MW) is about 600-1,200 people. This figure is based on the recommendations of the atomic energy organization (IAEA) and a number of corporations and organs on nuclear electrical. In particular, there are people in an important position that needs training and practical experience for 5-10 years.

For Vietnam, the demand for human resources is estimated at 1,200 people a factory. This number ensures positions such as safety control and radiation protection, project management, factories, operating operations – operating furnaces, maintenance and technical support. Thus, in case of redeeming both Ninh Thuan nuclear power plants (capacity of 2×2,000 MW), the corresponding human resource demand is 2,400 people.

Minister Szijjártótro Péer is officially visiting Vietnam from March 18-19. This year, the two countries celebrated the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (1950-2025).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to developing relations with Hungary and the first comprehensive partner of Vietnam in the Middle Eastern Europe. He suggested that the two sides maintain the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high levels.

The Prime Minister also talked to Minister Szijjártótróter about some measures to increase cooperation in the fields of education, mechanics, electronics, tourism, labor, railway connection between the two regions of Southeast Asia – Middle Eastern Europe …

On this occasion, the Prime Minister asked Hungary as a member of the EU, helping to mobilize the remaining EU countries to soon approve the Vietnam -EU Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and mobilize the EU to soon remove the yellow card with Vietnam’s export seafood.

The Prime Minister transferred the invitation of Hungarian Prime Minister Orban Viktor soon visited Vietnam.

On the Hungarian side, the Minister affirmed that the country wanted to increase many aspects of Vietnam and the leading important partner of Hungary in Southeast Asia.
