Israel | From April 1, a taxi will rise in price by 4%, but soon tariffs can grow again

From April 1, taxi trips are rise in price by 4% in accordance with the growth of the price index, but it is expected that this is not the last adjustment of tariffs.

According to MAKO, the plans of the Ministry of Finance and Transport raise the cost of intercity trips by taxi by 16%. Representatives of the two departments intend to gather next week to resolve this issue.

Taxi drivers claim that the current tariffs for intercity trips make them unprofitable and unattractive. This is what they explain the difficulties with a taxi at the Ben-Gurion airport. It is expected that with an increase in tariffs, problems with a taxi search will disappear.

It should be noted that back in June, the Ministry of Transport reported the intention to raise tariffs for intercity trips by taxi by 20%.
