When the mayor of Clermont-Ferrand, Olivier Bianchi, turns into a recruiter on social networks

It is an unusual situation. The president of the Clermont metropolis (300,000 inhabitants) and PS mayor of Clermont-Ferrand, Olivier Bianchi, shot a video to praise the merits of the public services of his city and attract candidates for the many vacant positions.

“If you want to invest yourself in the daily life of your city and your territory, want to work at the service of others, I suggest you consult the offers of the city of Clermont-Ferrand, CCAS and Clermont Auvergne Métropole …”, launches the councilor in a video of one minute broadcast on a loop on social networks for a few days.

The method is not very conventional. It is rare, in fact, to see a mayor publicly transforming into director of human resources. But the situation becomes urgent: around sixty positions are currently being filled in trades in tension, such as those of police officers, maintenance agents, childcare assistants, or even agents in crèches, schools and nursing homes. On the metropolitan side, 23 positions are being published and 42 will be published by June.

“The profiles sought are numerous and varied,” says Olivier Bianchi. It seemed important to me to share all these offers on social networks. It is also a way of strengthening the visibility of these announcements with all the people who follow my news, as well as that of the city and the metropolis. This gives them an additional echo. »»
