Surprise offer from Russia for Elon Musk

Russia has announced that it is interested in supplying a small nuclear power plant Elon Muskin For the leading Mars flight. “We believe that Russia has a lot to give to the implementation of the Mars mission because we have a nuclear technology that I think could be applied,” Dimitrijev said.

Dmitrijev suggested that this could be discussed directly with Musk in a video conference. According to him, Russia considers cooperation with Musk to be important, and he described this as a “great visionary”.

The new proposal is significant, as this is the second time that Dmitrijev highlights possible cooperation with Musk.

Musk said in March that his space company Spacex plans to send an Optimus robot to Mars at the end of 2026, developed by his second company Tesla.

If the landing is successful, according to Musk, the first people could enter Mars as early as 2029, although the more realistic time is likely to be 2031.
