There is one new location in Belgium. The company does not want to announce where a new IMAX room will be. Brussels already had an IMAX room at the opening of the complex in 1988, which was then unique. In the absence of sufficiently suitable films in the format, Kineplis did closed the room between 2005 and 2016. Kinepolis also offers films in IMAX format in Antwerp and Liège.
There are more IMAX releases than ever, says Kinepolis. In the coming summer season it is about, among other things Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Superman in The Fantastic Four.
