With the duties, the PlayStation in Europe will cost 25% more

Sony has increased the price of its top console PlayStation 5 in Europa, Australia e New Zealand attributing the decision to a “difficult economic context”. The cost will rise to around 500 euros in Europe and 430 pounds in the United Kingdom starting today.

Reasons for the increase

The company said it was a “difficult decision” to increase prices, citing factors such as high inflation and fluctuations of exchange rates in the wake of the new US duties. Last week Bloomberg Intelligence has estimated that Sony e Nintendo Prices will increase by 30% due to the duties.

Production and rates

Sony produces a significant part of its units Ps5 in Chinawhich is facing US rates of 145%.
