Vietjet and Rolls-Royce signed a contract to provide 92 Trent 7000 engines and comprehensive maintenance services, worth a total of 3.8 billion USD, on October 30.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of General Secretary To Lam, Vietnamese leaders and Mr. Matt Western, Special Envoy of the British Prime Minister at the Vietnam – UK Summit Economic Conference.
According to the plan, Trent 7000 engines will be equipped for the fleet of 40 A330neo aircraft, ready to fly direct flights to Europe. Choosing the included comprehensive maintenance package helps Vietjet optimize operating efficiency and prolong engine life.

The multi-billion dollar contract not only helps Vietjet improve operating capacity, reduce emissions and improve service quality, but also contributes to creating more jobs in the UK, promoting aviation technology innovation and strengthening economic and investment relations between Vietnam, the UK and Europe.

Talking about the meaning of the order, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, President of Vietjet, said that each of the airline’s flights, in addition to carrying passengers, also carries dreams and national pride. She emphasized that Rolls-Royce has accompanied Vietjet in its journey to turn “people’s flying dreams into reality”, providing safe and comfortable journeys.
Mr. Ewen McDonald, Commercial General Director of Rolls-Royce Group, expressed his joy in accompanying Vietjet’s strong development. According to him, the agreement opens up opportunities for Vietjet to continue expanding its flight network, bringing economical, comfortable and experienced trips to global passengers. This person said that Vietjet is currently one of Rolls-Royce’s major customers.
