The Irish one Low cost airline Ryanair has to be for cost reasons “Prime” discount program closed. The one introduced in April Abo-Modell according to the airline causes higher costs than income.
The 4.4 million euros from subscription fees were offset by price discounts of more than 6 million euros, reported marketing boss Dara Brady. At 55,000 people, the number of subscribers also remained well below the targeted upper limit of 250,000 customers.
Existing subscriptions run until the end of their term
The revenue doesn’t justify the time and effort associated with the subscription model, the manager said. For a one-off contribution of 79 euros, customers received special ticket offers, free reserved seats and travel insurance for the booked flight once a month.
According to Ryanair, this could result in savings of up to 405 euros per year. Savings can be achieved after just three flights. Existing subscriptions will be served until the end of their term.
