Israel agreed to import agricultural workers from Cambodia

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar and Cambodian Minister of Labor and Vocational Training Heng Sur signed a framework bilateral agreement governing the recruitment of Cambodian agricultural workers to work in Israel.

The agreement is aimed at solving the problem of labor shortage in the agricultural sector. At the first stage, about 4,000 Cambodian workers will be hired, and the program can be expanded to other industries in the future.

Along with the framework agreement, an agreement was signed defining practical aspects such as recruitment procedures, transportation, guarantees for the protection of workers’ rights, etc.
