Viettel was named in the People and Culture category at the 2025 World Media Awards, taking place in London on December 9.
On December 9 in London, Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group was named winner of the People and Culture Award category of the 2025 World Media Awards – an award for the global telecommunications industry.
In this category, Viettel competes with businesses Deutsche Telekom (Germany), Moldcell (Nepal), Telin (Indonesia) and TurkNet (Türkiye). The jury highly appreciated the strategy “People first, Innovation always” of Viettel Group. In which people are placed at the center of the direction of sustainable development and building an environment that encourages innovation.

Viettel representative said that since its establishment in 1989, the group has pursued a policy of comprehensive care for employees. 360-degree program for employees including health, mental health, cultural and social benefits support. The Group increases the health budget, expands medical examination and treatment incentives and deploys support for vulnerable groups such as infertility, serious illness, natural disasters and housing.
Enterprises apply AI to human resources through the VI-AI platform, handling about 3,000 questions per day, helping to optimize work processes. In parallel, the online learning system, along with Udemy, LinkedIn Learning, Coursera and international certification sponsorship programs, support employees in improving their skills instead of eliminating them.
According to Viettel’s representative, the philosophy of putting people at the center is also reflected in production, business activities and social responsibility. The school Internet program provides free connection to more than 46,000 educational institutions, helping more than 25 million students access the Internet. In the medical field, the Heart for Children program has screened about 180,000 children for congenital heart disease and supported more than 7,000 surgeries.
The unit also implements many talent development programs such as the Viettel Excellence Scholarship, the Global Mobility Program international rotation program and the youth training ecosystem Viettel Digital Talent and Viettel Future Changemakers, attracting thousands of candidates each year.

The Group encourages innovation from each individual, recognizing thousands of internal initiatives each year with a contribution value of up to millions of USD. Internal surveys show that 92.8% of employees feel encouraged to share and 80% feel appreciated. Viettel also expanded funding for patent registration and core technology research development.

World Communication Awards is an annual award organized by Total Telecom Magazine since 1999, to recognize telecommunications businesses and organizations with outstanding contributions to technology, services, innovation and sustainable development. The award brings together global carriers and technology corporations, and is considered one of the prestigious standards of the international telecommunications industry.
