Trump introduces “gold card”: US residence permit for a million dollars

US President Donald Trump announced the launch of the “gold card” visa program, allowing wealthy foreigners to pay a million dollars in order to quickly obtain a residence permit in the United States, and subsequently citizenship.

Companies that want to bring a foreign worker to the United States will have to pay two million dollars under this procedure. In this case, $15,000 is paid when registering on the site, the rest is paid after receiving a positive response.

“This is a very joyful event for me and for our country. We are launching the Trump Gold Card,” the American president said, noting that the incoming funds, which will amount to huge sums, will be at the disposal of the federal government.

It also imposes an annual fee of $100,000 on H-1B visas for highly skilled foreign workers. This measure is restrictive in nature, its purpose is to force American companies to hire US citizens.
