The train confirms itself as the privileged and strategic vector for the cultural tourism in Italy. 87% of citizens choose it as means of tourist transport for 57% of travelers choosing the train means avoiding it traffic stress and the search for parking. For 51% the decisive factor is comfort to arrive directly in the heart of city while 42% choose it to be able to relax and enjoy the landscape.
The new one says it research conducted by SWG for Trainline leader in Europe in the sale of train and bus tickets presented in collaboration with the Municipality of Florence and the Destination Florence Foundation. Among the main destinations stand out: city of art for 80% of Italians. The first city where the train is used most as a means of tourist transport is Firenze. Almost one in two visitors (49%) arrives by train.
Florence and the new generations
With two out of three Italians (68%) having visited it in the last 5 years, the choice of train proves to be particularly strong among new generationslike the Generation Z so 76% of them visited Firenze and between Millennials so 57% reach the cities by train. This model of virtuous access has a direct impact on quality of experience: the general satisfaction for the visit to Florence it is very high (84%), with thecultural offer which garners 87% approval.
