The IKKS fashion group is taken over but some 500 jobs out of 1,000 are lost

The Paris Economic Activities Court ruled this Friday, December 12 on the takeover of the ready-to-wear group IKKS, placed in receivership, which employs some 1,000 employees in France. It was the offer from the Cucci-Benabou group that was accepted.

Around ten takeover offers, some very partial, had initially been submitted in this case, a symbol among others of the crisis in the clothing sector in France, weighed down by competition from second-hand goods and ultra-ephemeral fashion. Several offers were ultimately withdrawn before the hearing at the end of November.

At the end of August, the company had 473 points of sale in France and 11 other countries, and employed 1,287 employees worldwide, including 1,094 in France, according to court administrators. IKKS, founded in 1987, is a high-end ready-to-wear brand for women, men and children. Its head office is located in Maine-et-Loire.
