Vietjet promotes Vietnam – India innovation through the ‘Startup Flight’ contest

The “Startup Flight” program was co-founded by the Vietnam National Startup Support Center (NSSC), Amity Innovation Incubator (India) and Vietjet, starting on August 25.

The competition focuses on four priority areas including software, data, AI, e-commerce, retail, educational technology (EdTech) and transportation – logistics. The winning teams in each field receive 1,000 USD in cash and a pair of Vietjet round-trip tickets between Vietnam and India.

During the journey, Vietjet sponsors two-way tickets for competition teams and experts, creating convenient travel conditions between the two countries. Contestants receive direct mentoring from reputable experts and founders, helping to perfect their business model and expand opportunities to access investors.

Representative of Vietjet, Mr. Duong Hoai Nam, Director of the Northern Office, said that the program is an opportunity for Vietnamese and Indian startups to exchange and learn, thereby developing ideas into actual products and businesses.

“Startup Flight” is considered an initiative that contributes to the formation of an innovation corridor between Asia’s two most dynamic markets. The program also demonstrates the role of businesses in promoting the spirit of creativity and regional cooperation.

Vietjet currently operates many direct flights between Vietnam and India, connecting Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang with major cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. This flight network helps meet tourism demand but also supports trade, education and technology cooperation between the two countries.

According to the airline’s representative, co-founding “Startup Flight” is a continuation of the scholarship, educational cooperation and innovation programs that Vietjet has implemented for many years, to support young minds and promote technology solutions for the community.
