The number of vacancies in the labor market in Israel has returned to the levels during the COVID-19 pandemic

The total number of available jobs in Israel increased from 150,974 vacancies in October to 151,354 vacancies in November 2025, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics.

The job vacancy rate stood at 4.59% of total jobs in the economy last month, the highest since October 2022.

The most acute personnel shortage is observed among sales workers: there is a shortage of almost 14,000 such specialists – about a tenth of all vacancies in the country. At the same time, the shortage is only getting worse: according to the current monthly report, the demand for sellers and sales agents has increased by about a thousand positions.

The restaurant sector, which has been struggling to recruit staff since the pandemic, is showing some improvement, with the number of waiters and bartenders missing falling by 11%, but the shortfall remains significant at about 8,700 workers.

In high-tech, a decrease in the number of vacancies for software developers was recorded by 1% – to approximately 6,800 positions in November. Among engineers (including software engineers), the number of unfilled positions fell by 3% to approximately 10,600 positions.
